Part of a campaign of imagery for Amor Da Terra, a Brazilian company that makes jewelry from organic materials.
Amor Da Terra means “Love Of The Earth” in Portuguese, which is appropriate since this jewelry is all made from organic, earthen materials. And the name is where I took my inspiration from when I created this campaign. I wanted the models - like the jewelry - to be of the earth if you will, and so “painted” the models in assorted colors of mud and earth. I then created a North Light Studio - basically a black tent with the opening facing north (the softest, most diffuse light in the northern hemisphere) - and let only God’s light, the sun, be my source for lighting. No strobes or hot lights were used. So, everything on this shoot was an ode to “Amor Da Terra” - the nude models painted in colors of the earth, the light, which was only the sun, and, of course, the jewelry.
The results were fantastic, and applauded by the company. They were beyond thrilled, and helped to create awareness for their expansion into the States.
