Project Fellini: La Strada is a hommage to a great director Federico Fellini's 100th anniversary.
The concept stems from the narrative of the film, from the duality of the relationship between the fragile Gelsomina and the rough Zampano, who - in a booklet - always prevails over Gelsomina in larger formats. Eventhough Gelsomina is presented in small images, she always faces a reader in her full image - in contrast to Zampano, whose images are on a large format, but always shown only partly. Through discomfort, anger, and finally hysteria, we follow the story with a typographic layout and cutouts in the sheets that constantly lock Glesomina into Zampano’s frames.
Result is an experimental black and white booklet which follows film narrative through various design components and tells the story with visual elements.
