The dental clinic sector is an overcrowded one. In Spain, there are thousands of clinics and it is very difficult for one brand to formally stand out. 90% of the logos of those clinics are similar to each other because they use abstract elements which do not say anything about the services that the clinics offer, or because they use drawings of teeth as a typical cliché. Our contribution was to use much simpler language which would summarize something related with the sector: a tooth, but one that was linked in some way with the brand.
The task we were entrusted with was to generate an identifier for the Hinboca Dental Clinic – something that would be simple and in some way representative of the company's business activity; in short, to create a figurative mark which would set the clinic apart from others. In addition, said symbol had to be integrated into the so that both the brand and the symbol could be used together or separately.
Using the ‘H’ of ‘Hinboca’ as our basis, we recreated the image of where an upper and lower tooth meet when the mouth is closed, making that union between the teeth become an H by choosing a font and retouching it so that the idea of two teeth meeting would be conveyed visually. Since, the moment when the brand was developed was not the best time in the dental clinic sector, a blue-green color was used to reinforce a relationship with medical services and stand out from large chain clinics.
