I wanted to make a voting poster that would not only resonate with Texans, as I reside in Texas, as well as being unbiased and that would help express to others that their voice truly matters in the electoral process. I decided to use western imagery and slab serif fonts, inspiration from "Uncle Sam" posters, as well as the colors red, blue, and black, as well as the white of the paper, to create not only a Texan voting poster, but also a uniquely American one. The three separate colors were transferred onto three different linoleum plates and carved, then inked and printed on a Challenge Proof Press on 12" x 18", 88 lb. white paper.
