Assignment
2020 marks the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment in the United States, granting women the right to vote in 1920. AIGA's Get Out the Vote: Celebrating 100 Years of the Women's Vote poster campaign, in partnership with the League of Women Voters, invites AIGA members to design nonpartisan posters to celebrate women’s voting rights, and to motivate the American public to register and turn out to vote in the 2020 election.
Approach
The repetition of the circular elements simultaneously function in the letterforms and female symbol, while resembling fillable bubbles that are found on voting ballots.
Results
The poster initiative aims to celebrate women's voting rights, and catalyze women through design, voting rights, citizenship, community, and diversity. The logo synthesizes these concepts in a simple form.
