The assignment was to design a cohesive theatre poster series that communicated the unique theme of each individual performance, while simultaneously connecting the entire season of performances together through a consistent visual language. In addition to the posters, the system also needed to accommodate myriad different formats for digital and social media distribution.

I designed a modular approach to the series layout that allowed for a flexible grid of (primarily my own) photographs to visually convey the important themes, mood and voice of each performance. The custom photography, grid structure, and typography work together to evoke a feeling of unity, while the use of different hues and inclusion of particular imagery represents the individual flavor and character of each show.

The project was a success and the modular approach allowed for maximum fluidity between deliverable formats while maintaining the overall tone and flavor of the original poster designs. The project provided a fresh approach and unusual visual interpretation that contrasts past depictions of popular performances.
