The goal of the project was to create a granola bar, using collagen for hair, skin, and nails, that empowered women to make them feel beautiful on the go. The logo consists of the double X, substituting the 'w' in empower, to represent the XX chromosomes of females. On the back of each bar is also a link to an organization that works to solve problems that effect women around the world.

I found inspiration for the illustration of the product in feminist art and 1960’s protest signs. I referenced women of different cultures and sizes to be as inclusive as possible. I made the women anonymous, without facial features, to highlight the skin and hair and to emphasize the illustration as being a collection of women rather than a collection of individuals.

I believe the final product was successful in empowering women to feel like they are part of something bigger than just themselves. I wanted to make this product be about building women up and making them feel like they can take on their day with the energy they get from the granola bar but also from the power of being a woman.
