GTE Financial wanted us to create a series of quirky and impactful 15-second TV spots on a limited budget that would convey their mission to “go beyond money” and help many different local charities. In the process, they wanted us to make people aware that every time you purchased something with your GTE credit card, your monies would go to assist local nonprofits, like the American Heart Association.
This was one of three 15-second spots in a campaign in which we emphasized how people could “Swipe It Forward” with GTE Financial and donate to local charities every time they purchased something with their GTE credit card. In this particular spot, when the customer swiped their GTE card it made the sound of a heart beating and we revealed in a dramatic way that the monies went to the American Heart Association.
The GTE Financial marketing team really liked this spot, because it was kind of quirky and different – just like GTE. The commercial helped to differentiate them from the competition and showed in a memorable way how they really contribute to the local community, as well as offering members rewarding benefits. This “Swipe It Forward” theme was also used in OOH and digital banner ads and worked together with the TV campaign to generate lots of awareness, positive feedback and membership growth.
