Because I wanted the mark to be primarily letterform, the process was mostly going out to east Austin and gathering as much visual references on the type used in the area that I could find. The inspiration was mostly from locally famous murals, shops, and libraries that all had similar shapes and colors combined with visual elements from city block graphics.
