Andreas Franke is well known for his outstanding photographs and mixed media artworks, but with the AQUANAUT he created his first sculpture. Andreas love for diving and the ocean in general built the background for it. A helmet diver is a diving instrument mostly made of metal, it is the origin of diving and was invented in the early 19th century. In 2021 Andreas did his own interpretation and designed this iconic piece of art.

Accordingly, it was extremely important for the photographer to create an outstanding image of this porcelain sculpture.
It was obvious to shoot it underwater in a tank with a PhaseOne XF with 100 Megapixel and a high end flash system and to make it more modern he decided to use very colorful light settings.

Until now we received great interest in the sculpture of the aquanaut and sold several pieces all over the European continent.
