Because of Beuys's extensive opus of works, much analysis was needed at first. While researching his work, I was most attracted to his idea that we humans and nature are capable of living in perfect coexistence despite all the contradictions, with which I never fully agreed.
To design the frame / poster, I started getting inspiration from his project 7000 OAK TREES in which Beuys planted 7000 oaks and placed a granite cube next to each one.
The question arose for me as to whether these trees are really good for the people who live there. Trees attract birds, and birds excrete their excrement through cars parked beneath those trees. The photos in the poster show cars covered in birds excrement and Beuys trees.
The text printed on the glass describes Beuys and his approaches, but the readability of this text was not the primary concern, as the concept says something completely different.
Beuys also argued that any human being can be an artist. My poster opens like a door, and offers options for the viewer’s own photo layout or even exchange of pictures. Pictures stand on small transparent circle rubbers that are glued to the glass.
