The story is really about people, not a building. This served as the guiding principle for many of our design decisions. For example, chapters were based on the period of a pastor's service, not arbitrary dates. Event timelines included important events as well as highlighting day to day experiences. Photographs captured a cross section of many people, not just the people one might expect to see.
The timeline represents a 100 year cycle where the momentum of the first 100 years carries the community into the next.
In the end, we wanted the book to be appealing to the parish community as well as people not formally involved. To do this, the book needed to be inviting with a respectful approach to the content.
