Men Without Women is a collection of short stories that explore the existential loneliness of men in the absence of their women. The choice of typography represents the off-putting and undesirable way that the women in the book are described. The illustration style is inspired by Gyotaku, a method that Japanese fishermen used to catalogue their catches. The illustrations represent the ironic presence of the women; although they are not physically present in the men’s stories, they are constantly present in the men’s minds and narratives.
