From a simple upgrade to a luxurious spa-like experience, Kohler has a digital control that is just right for everybody.

With the newest digital control offering (Anthem) as our hero product, the goal for The Beacon—Kohler’s in-house creative agency—was to create awareness and desire for digital showering (and the showering portfolio in general) with a national campaign that included broadcast TVC, OLV, social content, digital and print executions.

To communicate how Kohler digital showering enables supreme control of water, we came up with an idea that leveraged its only potential rival: the God of Water, Poseidon. Leaning into Greek mythology provided super rich territory in which to play, inspiring bold visuals and even bolder storytelling. And it allowed for positioning digital showering as something everyone can appreciate—even a jealous Greek God.

Because of the complexity of the execution, it was paramount to identify the right creative partners for our video and print needs. With his impressive photography portfolio, meticulous attention to detail and collaborative spirit, award-winning photographer Ross Brown and his team were the ideal creative partners to bring “The Power of Poseidon” to life for the print portion of the campaign.

After the campaign started taking shape, the excitement--and consequently our media plan--grew exponentially. With "The Power of Poseidon", we have developed more supporting assets, including custom digital units and first-to-market viewing environments, than any other campaign for Kohler. On social, our parallax version--an animated still designed to create a sense of immersion in the visual--continues to intrigue and delight our followers. Internally, among associates and leadership at Kohler alike, the campaign has been met with much fanfare--especially in seeing a return to the kind of bold print that made Kohler famous in the first place.
