Due to the folds in the brochure, a poster that functions as a brochure will strictly limit your creative space since the fold will cut off incorrect placements of texts and images; plus, the informational hierarchy must be functional in both orientations.
I used this restriction to my advantage. By utilizing the size of the brochure form, I created a solid grid system that let me know exactly where to put typography and graphic elements. The main title and movie entries were placed systemically and chronologically in a zigzag pattern to create movement and a functional information hierarchy in both poster and brochure form. In addition, the movie entries were specifically placed on the second and fourth columns in order to avoid the fold in brochure form, maximizing readability. The image was processed using bitmapping and places and sized in a specific way to represent the golden ratio and create an interesting dynamic and motion throughout the poster and brochure.
