The assignment was to do a new talent test shoot for a model agency. We had a complete creative freedom.
Enchanted by the fashion and the feeling of frivolity of the interwar period we decided to explore the style of the 20s in our photo-shoot. We thought a simple "flapper" look would be the most reminiscent of those times. Incorporating a classic beaded dress and a string of pearls were essential. The makeup had to be heavy but without hindering our model's natural beauty. Finally, we wanted a moody yet soft light that would emphasize all of the above components. The rest was in the hands of Heidi, our amazing and freckled redhead talent.
There is not much room for error when a photo crew is united and has clear vision. All the elements of the photograph align to depict the girl from the 20s. The model, her hair, makeup and wardrobe, the lighting and the composition complement each other and result in a strong image that brings the viewer back in time. In the end everyone was extremely pleased with the final photograph. We were able to showcase the talent of the model and every single crew member.
