This project aimed to redesign an existing trademark for Dead Candles, a homemade candle company that crafts historically-inspired candles in Portland, OR.
The new brandmark was crafted by morphing candle and skeleton iconography to keep it playful and familiar without overtly spooky and tense. Bold and energetic typography further pushes the mark toward the recognizable horror genre with a flare.
The proposed brandmark captures the playfulness of Dead’s humor and voice while maintaining a quirky and eerie aesthetic. Colors reminiscent of all things dead: bones, blood, and darkness mixed with organic, clean shapes of candle iconography bring the brand to life.
