For the first time, a group of concrete women artists was the subject of an exhibition in Germany. Twelve women artists were selected, most of whom have connections to each other, to Stuttgart or the region around Stuttgart, and to the collection of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart. Their lives and works, the conditions of education and presentation for women before and after 1945, as well as their sponsors and networks were examined. The exhibition traced the sociological aspects of women's biographies.
The design of the cover takes up the graphic design of the poster of the exhibition. You can see the basic elements of form design that the concrete artists themselves also used. The design suggests the rules, grids and and formal language of the artworks to be viewed in the exhibition. The title font (set in compacta) is just as straightforward and manages to boldly set the scene for the long title. The content of the catalog is set in Antwerp as well as Helvetica Now. Both fonts helped the reader to distinguish the respective language. In addition, the two typeface classes show how harmoniously they work together.
