Brochure commissioned by Galeria Ocupa!, an art gallery located at an old butcher shop. "1,5 Kg of Flyers" was published to celebrate the first year and a half of artistic production at the gallery and it gathers all the flyers from the exhibits held at the gallery. The challenge was to design a box/package that would accommodate the different sized flyers. It also had to keep in line with the visual identity of Galeria Ocupa. It works as an archive of the past activity, giving new life to the flyers that remained from the previous exhibits.
We designed a box that folds out into two parts, holding the two formats of flyers in place. We opted for cheap solutions, like CLK cardboard and silkscreen, and used an image of a crumpled up flyer —the first one we ever made for the gallery— as a "cover image" for the packaging. We printed this in two shades of red and the tile in white. We then used a band, with info on the project, to seal the whole thing; the band also concealed the name of the gallery. Only once one opens the package, by sliding down the band, does one see the name of the gallery. The goal was to have the image resemble a piece of bloodied meat, under a band of "nutritional value" information.
