In January 2021, Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy S Series phones, including the flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra, S21+, S21 and their latest earbuds Galaxy Buds Pro.Turner Duckworth was tasked with developing a cohesive visual identity that highlighted the device's characteristics. This included the phone's seamless body and iconic, new camera module. Additionally, the visual identity needed to be flexible enough to differentiate between the most premium S21 Ultra and the more approachable S21+ and S21 devices.
We begin the process with an immersed understanding of the target audience and marketing goals. From there, we determine the main product story that can drive the launch, from what will entice at the teaser phase to what will sustain the duration of the product life span. For Samsung Galaxy S21, the wholistic product campaign focused on the new wrap-around product design alongside the secondary color story, violet. The combination of these elements anchored all of our creative solutions and united the range of products introduced within the same campaign. Conceptually and visually, from the Unpacked invitation, which teased what is to come, key product visuals that heroed both form and color, to various supporting elements such as animations and ecosystem communications. The result was a campaign that included a comprehensive product story, spoke to the consumer, and fulfilled practical marketing needs at once.
“Galaxy S21 Series Has Generated a Much More Positive Response and Has Sold 30% More Than the Predecessors. The numbers are impressive, to say the least. According to Samsung, the domestic phone sales recorded in the first 11 days in the market were up to 30% compared to the Galaxy S20 series around a year ago. These numbers reflect the pre-order figures in South Korea, which were also higher than the older models.”Font: Wccftech“Samsung was quoted as saying by Yonhap News that Galaxy S21 series sales are 30% higher than Galaxy S20 series sales. The growth was calculated based on sales from January 29 (the first day of availability) to February 8. Presumably the Korean manufacturer was comparing this to the Galaxy S20 range’s first few days of availability last year.”Font: Yonhap News
