We were tasked with creating a chair out of a personal experience.
Approach
I chose to use my experience as a cancer survivor to display in this design. I lost three ribs as a result of my cancer. I wanted the chair to be powerful yet delicate. I feel that this experience was alot of moving parts and you can see that in the design.
Results
The chair is made from a soft birch wood with aluminum inlays. no part of the chair is connected except the back where I consider the chair to be grounded and brought together which was by design for my faith, family, and friends that held me toegther throughout that experience.
