The Canadian-based "World Design Organization (WDO)" promotes the "Design Capital of the World" and designates the host city every two years. This is the visual identity created for this important event that will take place in 2022 in the city of Valencia (Spain). Helsinki (Finland), Turin (Italy) or Lille (France) are some of the cities that have been choose previously for this event.
A natural, simple and modular construction solution with great variability is proposed. Based on the geometric simplification of the initial letters VWDC. Geometry as a universal, timeless and permanently modern language. The result is a very forceful and powerful image. The design works at the same time as a brand, poster or pattern.
This visual identity has acquired great notoriety and popularity in Valencian society in the application process. And after winning the designation, it has performed at cultural and sectoral events such as in the latest edition of "Habitat Fair" (see photos), the main furniture fair in the country and one of the most important in Europe. Some elements of promotion and communication have begun to be produced and disseminated. The identity and the entire graphic project has been a success according to specialized critics and has been widely diffused by the general and specialized media.
