This project was created to assist in the branding of the "Empire Film Festival", a weekend of films to honor Roman war movies. The hope for this poster is to grab the attention of the viewer from far away (across the street or theatre), and lure them in for details and the call to action. The end goal of the poster is to encourage and accomplish attendance to the Empire Film Festival.
This poster was created with photography and typographic process. A model was hired to accomplish the expressive typography on his chest. The letters were made with black acrylic paint, while the blood on his body and puddled beneath his arms was created with an assortment of kitchen ingredients. The photograph was shot from an aerial view and touched up in Adobe Photoshop. The copy and logotype were created in Adobe Illustrator, and the final layout was completed in Adobe InDesign.
The project took a different approach to the project than most students in the class. I was given an A by my professor.
