This cover was created as part of a 12 page magazine assignment. The goal was to capture the viewer's interest and spark a desire to read the magazine. My target audience is anyone with an interest in the macabre.

I started by making a word list of spooky things, then researched art nouveau typography, finding inspiration for the banner, "Haunt", which was hand sketched over multiple iterations and then recreated in Adobe Illustrator. The cover image was created in Photoshop using a photo of a chandelier and an underwater photo, and InDesign was used to finish the typography and layout.

I believe the combination of imagery and typography was successful, creating a cover layout that will appeal to my target audience and make them want to pick up and read the magazine.
