This began as a personal project where I took the trumpet I had played as a child and wondered what I could do with it. The valves were stuck fast, and so I immersed it in water with the intention of freeing them up, and then decided this was the route to travel.

My original thought had been to shoot bubbles coming from the end of it, but once I created the subdued brown background for the set up, I decided to add the additional layer of brown billowing clouds.

The initial images were seen by Luxure Magazine, who wanted to run it as a fine art story, and for which we shot some additional executions.
