Children’s Health needed an engaging, child-friendly poster campaign that could quickly communicate that they were the annual sponsors of the Texas State Fair Barnyard. These posters would be handed out and pinned up in the offices of pediatricians across North Texas to raise awareness about the event and Children’s Health’s involvement.
It was a requirement for these posters to incorporate animals and medical professionals in a simple and kid-friendly way. To do this we began with the Children’s red balloon, the balloon has been a part of their logo for years and it’s quickly connected to their brand. We came up with the idea to craft balloon animals out of construction paper and put a medical twist on it by turning these animals into doctors, nurses and patients. Each animal we chose to make was an actual animal that would be featured in the barnyard.
These posters were among the first pieces of advertising material that carried The Children’s Medical Center’s new name, Children’s Health. With their re-brand came a new more child-friendly attitude. And these fun, eye-catching posters were a great way to introduce that new look and feel. It was a memorable campaign featuring stickers, flyers, posters and banners that were seen by hundreds of kids and parents in the North Texas area. When the State Fair of Texas opened its gates the Children’s Health Barnyard saw thousands of people coming and going every day. Both the client and creative team agreed that it was a complete success.
