Rose & Crown is a popular pub to watch football. The pub showed World Cup games lives and wanted to generate buzz, and deliver large crowds to watch matches during the tournament.
Russian Takeover: The 2018 World Cup is in Russia. We researched old Russian propaganda posters and constructivism design and developed a graphical campaign to capture the attention and passion of soccer fans. This isn't a World Cup. This is a World War. We created a movement by putting posters up around town and throughout the restaurant, re-designed their website, created promotional postcards and coasters and wall graphics. We wanted this campaign to feel like an underground movement targeting soccer fans.
The restaurant attracted early crowds. We used the crowds from the Champions League final game as an opportunity promote the 2018 World Cup.The World Cup Takeover campaign generated early buzz for the World Cup and helped set record attendance and sales days during the month-long tournament.
