I started by creating multiple sheets of word lists of objects, locations, professions, animals, etc. In this case, I chose a scorpions stinger and sausage. I then proceeded to create thumbnails and roughs. My approach to this design was to utilize my letterform "S" and combine both sausage links and a stinger in a very simplistic way. I decided to go for colors that reflected more of a sausage feel, then later finalized all type.
