Design a chair based on the synthesis of themes in both a personal story and a design movement.
I simultaneously wrote a personal story and then researched Expressionism and wrote a paper on it. I then began to map out themes in each and synthesize the two using an x and y axis method to determine where they overlap in a zone of conflict. I let this zone of conflict influence a series of hundreds of sketches until I came up with my final design. I fleshed out that design and did schematic drawings with detailed measurements, instructions, and material selections. I then sent this to a 3D renderer to have the chair rendered and art directed this process.
For my final deliverable, I have several images from various angles of my chair as well as my chair placed into an environment.
