Amarena style cherries are a rich dark cherry traditionally used in desserts, but in recent years they have found a home in the craft cocktail market. The goal of the project was to create a label that fit that newer craft cocktail market, evoking a high-end whiskey/spirit label design feeling where it could sit comfortably on the shelf in high-end food retialers and in liquor sections in grocery environments. Ideally, we wanted a label the would inspire people to try the product.

Multiple designs were created emphasizing different styles of typography and color combinations to evoke a rich, high-end craft cocktail feeling. Small filigree details in foil were employed to bring a luxurious feeling to the label.

The product has been a success. It has sold well in its market and the client and consumer feedback are very positive. Direct feedback on roundtable discussions featured comments like "I would buy this based on the packaging alone."
