You can know the bare minimum and still call yourself a managerial accountant. But to call yourself a CMA, you need to master the material. And that mastery comes with a 2 part, 8 hour exam and only has a 50% pass rate. It’s hard. And we think that’s a good thing. You don’t want a credential every Tom, Dick or Jane can get. You want the CMA, because it says you’re something special. That lead to the tagline: CMA. You’ve got to earn it.
