First poster for Manifold's 'Aphorisms' poster series. Designed after the Iranian poet, film director and women's rights activist Forough Farrokhzad's "The Bird Was Just A Bird" poem.
Approach
This poster illustrates the action of flying without showing a bird using a collage technique. Subtle elements such as bird shaped letters 's' and geometric forms resembling wings juxtaposed alongside botanical imagery interpret the atmosphere the poem is describing.
Results
Literature enthusiasts were interested in adding a print of this 50 cm x 70 cm poster to their collection and it was printed on demand for them.
