Rather than using a typeface to execute this project, the title was hand rendered by hand and then manipulated and adjusted using Illustrator.
Approach
The Banned Book Cover assignment for TCU's Typography II course encourages students to redesign a book cover with typographical elements as the main focus of the cover. Hierarchy and grouping are other key components of this assignment.
Results
The cover resulted in a hand rendered front that reflects elements of music to parallel with the series title, "A Dance to the Music of Time." The inner flaps, back cover, and spine reflect traditional book design with quotes, summary, and a brief biography with a picture of the author.
