Bosnia and Herzegovina and its capital Sarajevo represent the center and crossroad of civilizations, cultures and religions. In the past, this clash of civilizations often escalated, producing events of importance for history, including the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the siege of Sarajevo, and the war in Bosnia. This poster is a response to the Sarajevo100 Exhibition celebrating Sarajevo, and its citizens who are becoming messengers of peace and modern European and world values.

I responded to the poster project by depicting a set of stairs that span 100 years: the bottom represents 1914, when Sarajevo began. The top represents 2014, rich in color and prosperity. This is intended to depict the evolution of Sarajevo, which continues to ascend into a messenger of peace and modern world values.

The poster was featured in the international Sarajevo100 Exhibition on June 17th-July 3rd 2014, along with over 200 posters and multimedia projects of graphic designers from 37 countries and 5 continents. See more details at http://sarajevo100.com/.
