Anne Brigman: A Visionary in Modern Photography is a deluxe, large-format box set devoted to one of the first feminist artists, best known for her iconic landscape photographs made in the early 1900s depicting female nudes outdoors in rugged Northern California. The set contains two volumes: a 400-page book that surveys Brigman’s photographs and archive, along with an intimate, 96-page book of her poetry inset into the bottom panel. The typography is reflective of Brigman’s calligraphic style and is stamped with a holographic foil that responds to a line from one of her poems: “...rainbows are spun from the tears of the storm.” The front and back cover of the larger book features Brigman’s poetry printed with a subtle pearlescent foil stamp.
