Help us to find a name and create a brand identity for our new business. It is important that consideration be given to the way we talk about ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world across many applications including packaging, advertising, signage and our online store. In the end, our plan is simple: make the best apple-based ciders and spirits anywhere in the world. We grow our own apples on our organic farm in The Blue Mountains. Our focus is local. It’s our way of paying tribute to the landscape.
Finding the right name came first, and there it was, staring at us right in the face: some of the apples they grow are a variety called Northern Spy. That was the starting point that opened all other doors, including irreverent text from the world of espionage, including redactions; a black and red palette, and plenty of eyes.
Despite having to navigate their startup business through a pandemic, the brand identity proved to be memorable, which has spawned an ever-growing legion of loyal customers and a couple of very happy entrepreneurs.
