M.J. Harris is a national commercial builder based in Birmingham, Alabama. The company partners with clients in healthcare, education and government to build enduring structures that serve communities for decades. Their current brand did not reflect their unique focus on partnership. Tatum Design was tasked with creating a solid, well-constructed brand that would be an authentic expression of their identity.
M.J. Harris is known for building long-lasting relationships and structures, and our work on this branding project was inspired by their steadfast approach. The brand logo, a solidly constructed monogram of an “H,” is a bold symbol of the company’s enduring values. Its graphic shape is formed by indestructible columns and beams that represent strong community bonds. Our overarching strategy for the brand was to establish a stronger foundation for the company to grow on the national platform. We accomplished this objective by building a comprehensive, industry-leading brand. We designed a heavy-hitting website to increase visibility online. Reinforcing the new look and feel, we crafted a sleek set of brand case studies and bi-folds that set a confident tone. We created a complete RFP package to help them cinch new business. To boost morale, we designed a line of branded apparel and equipment — it was a hit on job sites. We empowered leadership to energize important stakeholders with a beautiful values brochure that hammered home their differentiators. Clean, contemporary stationery also positioned the sales force to ink new deals. We uplifted the appearance of construction sites with friendly blue signage. The brand’s transformation extended to the trade show environment with large, head-turning panels that captured the attention of the brightest recruits. The M.J. Harris branding extended to every touchpoint and environment for the greatest impact.
