Teknion’s goal for the exhibit was to bring focused attention to Teknion’s leadership in sustainable development. As part of Teknion’s responsibility to sustainability every aspect of the exhibit was designed with this in mind. Materials include MDF and plywood both of which are 100% FSC certified, the metals have a high recycled content, the finishes are water-based and the booth was manufactured locally. At the end of the show, the trees were donated to the Orphan Spaces—a Toronto program in partnership with the Design Exchange—and the booth components stored for future use. The furniture and the new Optos glass wall system are re-locatable and are Greenguard and ECO Logo certified. In addition to the physical aspects of the exhibit, each tree pedestal describes a step Teknion has taken in their commitment to sustainability. As part of the exhibit concept, Teknion LEED accredited professionals shared their insights and knowledge with visitors so that together we all can make a difference.
