In our de facto globalized world there are countless forces at work — positive and negative. Fundamentalism is invariably of the latter variety. This series of posters attempts to convey the premise that fundamentalism comes in all colors, that it's mental, that it's irrational and that it degrades women — among other things.
Approach
Fundamentalist thinking flourishes in environments governed by fear of the different — of the other. It also often feeds off deeply-rooted anger. Three of these posters attempt to convey this irrational eruption of emotion based on said fear and anger and highlight two words within the word: "IS MENTAL" — i.e. fundamentalism is "crazy" and it is, for the most part, a fabrication of the mind. The fourth poster attempts to convey the suppression of expression and the subjugation of women, which are also manifestations of fundamentalist thinking.
Results
The poster series was created for and targeted at an international audience. The response, particularly on social media platforms was very positive, sparking dialogue on the fundamentalist phenomenon and, as such, achieving its original objective.
