The American Red Cross is one of the most trusted institutions in the world, but many assume they will always be there and that their operations and services are government funded. Beyond soliciting donations, they needed the region to understand the critical role the St. Louis chapter plays in the emotional recovery of those affected by disaster.

Introducing The Compassionates. The American Red Cross is always there. Offering comfort. Offering help. Offering hope. But in the throes of a disaster, do these things really matter? After all, they respond to fires, but don’t put them out. They go out in storms, but not to clean up. They assess damage, but don’t cut insurance checks. Of course it would matter. Because the Red Cross is really good at one thing. And for people affected by disaster, that one thing can make all difference.

2017 marked the centennial anniversary of the American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis. The year-long integrated campaign that marked the celebration, created new fundraising events, raised the profile of the organization with media coverage, increased corporate donations and inspired the community to get involved.
