Stationery development for “Asahi Kindergarten” located in Minamisanriku, Miyagi prefecture.
Minamisanriku, Miyagi prefecture is a devastated area struck by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The kindergarten building was carried away by the Tsunami but later, it was rebuilt as a symbol of restoration with many supports.
Our assignment was to design their new stationery that would contribute to the kindergarten’s future activities and to promote further restoration.

Stationery design for “Asahi Kindergarten” had to deal with the restricted use of materials like papers in the tough post-disaster situation.
Flexibility and the multi-purpose use were the essential elements for its design so we created various types of stickers to meet all possible environments.
The sticker made out of circles with various colors and sizes are used for many different purposes and they play significant roles to make the stationery diversified and functional.

The presence of “Asahi Kindergarten” and the necessity for the restoration is well conveyed throughout Japan via stationery and the kindergarten succeeded to gain many supports.
