Thousands of NGOs across the globe need regular donations to make a difference. While people understand this, they seldom take the effort to visit the websites of these NGOs to make a donation. How can we simplify the donation process and make it a regular habit?
Our data is the new oil, and big tech companies harvest it to make big bucks.
With Donate Your Data, a Google Chrome initiative, we plan to turn these advertising bucks into charitable donations.
The only thing that a user needs to do is agree to be a Data Donor through his Google Chrome settings. On doing so, Chrome will automatically ensure that every time a big company sells the user’s data for money, a part of their earnings will be donated to an NGO of the user’s choice.
With Donate Your Data, every site visited will become an avenue for charity. The millions of ‘I agree’ buttons that are clicked every day will translate into millions of Euros for several hundred charities.
