Students are to design a single cover subway poster. Students are expected to blend type and imagery and create an engaging and provocative single image which visually illustrates the poem. Students are encouraged to research and implement meaningful imagery or just pure text.
Approach
The relatively dark and somber tone of Robert Frost's poem "Devotion" guided the choice of the dark blue palette of this poster. The mention of the ocean's endless repetition within the poem itself is nodded to through the use of the photograph of choppy ocean water, and a repetition of how the text and image are treated.
