To elevate the traditional magazine cover model into a work of art.
Jennifer Hudson has secured her rightful place in the zeitgeist as one of America’s brightest stars. My mission for this photoshoot was to create images that are a joyous celebration that captures her essence. The artist I wanted to work with was American Pop artist Ashley Longshore, known for her colorful, witty, and exuberant paintings.

Hudson's film, "Cats" was about to premiere, so I selected clothing from the appropriate season from the top designers that represent cats. I provided images of the clothing to Ashley Longshore to make paintings of. Once I photographed Hudson, Ashley painted the looks into my images, and together we created the backgrounds with elements of her previous paintings. The elements, such as butterflies and lilies, were selected by Hudson.

The results were so well received that we teamed up with Dee Ocleppo to make limited-edition pumps inspired by the photoshoot.
