The Plano Nacional de Leitura (National Reading Plan 2027) institutes, in this year and for the first time, the Ler+ Award. This award aims to yearly recognise and award personalities and collective entities, whose work in the areas of reading and writing has been highlighted, contributing, in this way, for better reading statistics among the Portuguese population, as well as, for the development of reading skills and the promotion of the relish for reading and writing.

It concerns the representation of a book, literally materialised in an element of polished steel with an embossed inscription of the designated elements. The aim is that this piece is self-explanatory and represents, not only a solemnity of this award attribution, but also the valuing of reading a book as an object.
