This project’s objective is to design a packaging system for a product line with various components or a variety of products that are related to each other. The scope of the project is open in terms of product and design. The packing system needs to address both the functionality and visual aspect to highlight the value of the product. The design system needs to cover at least three distinctive pieces and can materialize in various forms or approaches.
The initial proposal to the project was to create a series of healthy beverage that would have a distinctive look when displayed on the shelves at the store.Through research, I started to have interest in environmentally friendly trend in product design. As a result, I've shifted toward a water bottle product with reusable packaging.
The initial packaging was just the pouch, which serves three different purposes: 1. Avoid damaging during shipping. 2. Visual appeals when displayed on the shelf at the store. 3. Packaging is reusable as thermal carrying pouch
The box frame is added to make stacking easier during shipping and standing up right at the store. It also help storing the strap is is supposed to be part of the pouch functionality. The box has just enough material and is designed to be made with recyclable material.
The project final design was received positively. There was feedback to incorporate more verbiage to the design, particularly the tag with the animal in front. It was a very helpful feedback given that the theme is recyclability. Besides the visual appeal, added information can also encourage consume to reuse it for something else.
