We were assigned to create a magazine of any kind, any topic, in order to develop skills on print layouts as creating a look and feel for print design.

I'm interested in sports, and I've noticed there's not as much high level media coverage on women's sports, so I decided to create a women's sports magazine called Victory that champions women. Furthermore, it doesn't focus on their physique it focuses on the beauty of the sport and their athleticism. The masthead has an implied line that is mimicking a finish line to further the sports concept. The design is aimed at women interested sports, but it's not overly feminine, so anyone could be attracted to this magazine. There are bold colors paired with modern, minimalistic shapes that creates movement while complimenting the athletes, allowing them to shine.

This project received a good grade and my professor and classmates thought this looked aesthetically pleasing and it fit my target audience. They enjoyed the type interactions with the photos as well as the implied movement throughout the spreads.
