Assignment
In a pre-production meeting, the In-House client brought visual examples of jewelry displayed on cubes, and it was determined that the jewelry would be photographed on "representative" cubes, and the backgrounds would be created digitally.
Approach
I was given two acrylic cubes to use as stands ins. On one of the first images, the two brooches, the cubes worked out well as a "real" background, rather than as stand ins, so we changed direction, using the jewelry and cubes to compose fully realized images.
