The French publisher, Editions Du Chêne needed a cover for their upcoming art book, "Protest!", subtitle: "The Posters That Changed The World 1968-1973" (a collection of vintage posters from the era of international political turmoil and social change).

Each letter of the title was created on a separate sheet of paper, and photographed as a poster up on a distressed urban wall. The wrinkled and distressed paper suggests the historical, archival nature of the book's contents.

Enlarging the exclamation point of the title served to symbolize the dramatic impact of the poster form for protest.

The author was ecstatic that the title for his book of posters was created from an arrangement of posters.
