I was assigned to create a collector's edition box that would be sold at an expensive and exclusive Film Noir Film Festival.

The classic black and white Film Noir style originated in the 1940’s in Hollywood and focused on American crime and detective films. It focused on the insecurities of the time period, including fear, paranoia and mistrust. There is often a disillusioned male character who falls for a femme fatale who is manipulating him to get what she wants.

A special edition collector's box was created that highlighted the high contrast, stark lighting and mystery of the style, while including 1940’s Art Deco patterns to tie in both the film and art style of the decade. It includes five DVDs and their respective containers (made from film reels), a lipstick knife, whisky flask and cigarette case. The pop of red references the velvet movie curtains of the time.
